To the best of our knowledge, Hegren Pilates is the only Reformer manufacturer in the world that builds its Pilates Reformers with an all-steel frame. While nearly all premium competitors—Balanced Body, STOTT/Merrithew, BASI, Elina, Peak—rely on aluminum rails or wooden frames, the Greek family-owned business in Athens welds each Reformer from steel, applies an electrostatic coating, and combines it with birch wood, A-grade automotive synthetic leather, and a patented cable system. The result: maximum stability, a weight capacity of 150 kg, no warping, no micro-movement in the frame—and a 10-year manufacturer’s warranty on all metal parts.
Kraftathlet is an authorized dealer for Hegren Pilates in Germany and Switzerland—and the exclusive distribution partner for Austria. You’ll receive direct access to the manufacturer, a full manufacturer’s warranty, personalized advice, and scheduled delivery. Hotline: +49 800 000 8929.
What makes Hegren Pilates unique?
The difference lies in the frame. According to our market research, Hegren is the only Pilates reformer manufacturer that produces a full-steel frame as standard. With most other brands, steel is used only in specific areas—such as the footbar (Balanced Body Allegro 2), hardware, or springs. The load-bearing frame is almost always made of anodized aluminum or solid wood.
"Solid steel" specifically means:
-
No noticeable micro-movements during the transition from the plank, during Jumpboard training, or during dynamic Lagree-style sequences.
-
Supports a user weight of up to 150 kg —without affecting the manufacturer's warranty.
-
No warping, no swelling, no corrosion: Electrostatic powder coating seals the steel even in rooms with high humidity—which is important for physical therapy, wellness, and spa environments.
-
Hygienically smooth surfaces that are resistant to disinfectants—ideal for studios with multiple uses.
-
10-year warranty on the metal frame, 2 years on carriage wheels and wooden surfaces, and 1 year on consumable parts such as padding, springs, ropes, and straps.
The downside: A Hegren Reformer weighs 92 kg—significantly more than an aluminum model. It doesn't fold up. You're buying a Reformer built to last a lifetime in a gym, not a foldable model for an apartment.
40 Years of Greek Craftsmanship
Hegren Fitness has its roots in DYNAMIC HELLAS, a Greek fitness equipment manufacturer that has been producing in Athens for over 40 years. For about a decade now, the family-owned company has focused exclusively on premium Pilates equipment—always at the same location: 61 Leoforos Irinis, Tavros, Attica, Greece.
Each Reformer is manufactured in our own factory. The steel parts are welded and electrostatically coated on-site; the birch wood elements are CNC-milled; and the upholstery is made from high-density multilayer foam and double-stitched by hand using A-grade automotive synthetic leather. Certain mechanisms—including the patented S-Type Rope Arms and the footstrap system—are Hegren’s own innovations.
The brand ambassador is Dr. Mandy Persaki, a certified Pilates instructor with a Ph.D. and, according to her, the only Pilates expert with a doctorate (research focus: effects of the Pilates method on cardiorespiratory function). She oversees product development and training materials.
The Talma 62 – the flagship
The Talma 62 is Hegren Pilates’ flagship model and the Reformer of choice for nearly all Hegren studios worldwide. It is designed as the benchmark for studio use—without compromising on the features of home equipment.

Frequently Asked Questions About Hegren Pilates
What warranty does Hegren offer on the Talma 62?
10-year manufacturer's warranty on all metal parts (steel frames, mechanisms), 2 years on carriage wheels and wooden surfaces, and 1 year on consumables such as upholstery, springs, ropes, and straps. As an authorized dealer, Kraftathlet handles warranty claims directly with the Greek manufacturer.

How much does the Hegren Talma 62 weigh, and what is its weight capacity?
The Talma 62 weighs 92 kg and is rated for a maximum user weight of 150 kg. Its all-steel construction is the reason for both its greater stability and higher load capacity compared to similar aluminum or wooden reformers.
Why does a Hegren Reformer cost more than a standard aluminum model?
Three reasons: Steel is significantly more expensive than aluminum to process and transport. Every Reformer is manufactured in Greece—not as part of large-scale OEM production in Asia—including hand-stitched upholstery and manual final assembly. The 10-year metal warranty also covers intensive professional studio use—a level of coverage that many competitors do not offer for commercial use. The additional cost pays for itself over a typical studio lifespan of 10–15 years.
Where is Hegren Pilates manufactured?
Manufactured entirely in Tavros, Attica (Greece) —at the Hegren Fitness factory, a family-owned business with over 40 years of experience in the manufacture of professional fitness equipment. Designed and made in Greece. CE-certified.
How does Hegren differ from Balanced Body, STOTT, or Elina Pilates?
The key distinguishing feature is the frame material: Balanced Body Allegro 2 and Merrithew SPX are made of anodized aluminum; Elina Pilates uses rock maple wood with stainless steel fittings; and Gratz uses solid wood. To the best of our knowledge, Hegren is the only manufacturer with an all-steel frame. In terms of functionality, the Talma 62 offers a comparable level of features—including patented S-Type Rope Arms (6 positions, 360° swivels), a 6-angle footbar, and a 5-position headrest—combined with the highest material rigidity on the market.
