The Force USA® Hex Bar (Hex Bar / Trap Bar) is a hexagonal barbell bar designed for ergonomic deadlifts, farmer's walks, squat variations, and shrugs. You stand inside the bar—this allows for a more natural posture and significantly reduces strain on the spine.

Key Benefits

  • Back-friendly geometry: Because you stand in the middle of the bar, the center of gravity is right next to your legs instead of in front of you—resulting in a more upright torso, a more natural hip and knee bend, and significantly reduced shear force on the lumbar spine.
  • Effective deadlifts: high muscle activation in the quadriceps, hamstrings, and glutes with less strain on the back than with conventional barbell deadlifts—and a simpler technique for beginners.
  • Two handle heights: low and high handle positions for a greater range of motion with a reduced trunk tilt.
  • Versatile: Deadlifts, farmer's walks (ideal for grip strength, core, and endurance), shrugs, squat variations, jump squats, and Romanian deadlifts.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Is the Hex Bar suitable for beginners?
Yes. The Hex Bar is technically easier to learn than conventional barbell deadlifts and is therefore especially recommended for beginners.

Why is the Hex Bar easier on your back than a straight bar?
The center of gravity is next to your legs instead of in front of you. This allows you to keep your torso more upright and significantly reduces the shear force on your lumbar spine.

What is the weight of the hexagonal bar?
The weight varies depending on the model—please contact us for the exact weight of this version.

Can I use the Hex Bar for bench presses?
No. The Hex Bar is designed for lifting and pulling movements and is not suitable for bench presses.
