Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
How many tiles do I need for my space?
Each panel covers 2 m². So, for 50 m², you'll need 25 panels. The manufacturer's minimum order quantity is 10 panels, which is equivalent to 20 m².
4 cm or 5 cm—which is better?
The 4-cm version is sufficient for grappling and ground work and, at 19 kg per mat, is easier to move. If there’s a lot of throwing and you need more cushioning upon landing, the 5-cm version is the better choice.
What does EN 12503 mean in relation to this mat?
EN 12503 is the European standard for sports mats. The manufacturer states that the Tatami meets this standard; we do not have a test certificate for this model. We have requested one.
Are there other densities?
The standard density is 230 kg/m³. Upon request, the manufacturer also produces the "Junior" model with a density of 200–210 kg/m³ and the "Olympic" model with a density of 270–280 kg/m³.
